Nenuphar (s) plain 18ct yellow gold necklace pendant set with fat oval cut pale facetted green tourmaline 7.57cts
The endlessly repeated symbols of Upper (nenuphar) and Lower Egypt ( papyrus) were the initial focus of the Egyptian collection. I had found them on a small piece ( about 2x2cms) of faience in the the Louvre ( photo) and again on every statue of an Egyptian King as well as in the wall paintings of the tombs. I loved the French word : Nenuphar- the sound evoked Cleopatra-esque elegance.
