Teatro Massimo double ended bar cufflinks in silver. The Teatro Massimo in Palermo was built in 1864 and designed by Basile. It is the largest opera house in Italy. Within the Royal apartment, a detail of the wooden panelling was the direct inspiration for this design. From the Journey to Sicily.
Each cufflink measures approximately 17mm in length.
One of the greatest opera houses in the world is in Palermo: The Teatro Massimo. Inside I found on the balcony level, a series of wooden pillars decorated with a motif that seemed to tell of musical staves. I took this motif and engraved it in gold to be part of a bracelet design and then later, cufflinks.
All Cassandra Goad Jewellery is designed and made in our workshops in London.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
