Aztec earring pendants in 9ct yellow gold set with round facetted sky blue topaz and with pear shape facetted sky blue topaz. Inspired by the geometric Aztec and Mayan designs of Mexico. These exotic patterns decorate the ancient Pyramids of Mexico and are woven into modern Mexican life at Aperi restaurant in San Miguel de Allende. From the Journey to Mexico.
*Astrea hoops are sold separately.
Near Mexico City, the Aztecs were growing maize and grinding it with a metate. I admired these circular stones with their deep grooves and sketched them as an earring with pear shaped stones, hanging from them, like small sparkling pieces of corn.
Topaz is an aluminium fluoro-hydroxyl-silicate that occurs in large crystals, mostly in Brazil. Glowing with the gift of healing, a blue topaz (the birthstone for November) is said to help your mind and body feel restored, a symbol of friendship, love, honesty, and fidelity. While a golden yellow topaz, permeated with healing warmth and life like the dazzling sun, will rejuvenate both your mind and body. Highly protective, the magic set within these stones is believed to make the wearer invisible to danger.
All Cassandra Goad Jewellery is designed and made in our workshops in London.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
