If you close your eyes and think of Mexico - I am sure there would be a cactus in your imagination; and so it was that one design afternoon, thinking with her eyes closed, Cassandra thought of cacti. With a matt finish and delicate bobbles to reflect the texture of many cacti, and using the old Victorian technique of deeply engraved setting to add extra sparkle, she created her Cacti design. From the journey to Mexico.
Cactus halo in 9ct white gold set with 6 facetted blue sapphires and 6 diamonds with 9ct yellow gold blue topaz Finita studs 1.9cts. Each earring measures approximately 16mm . These earrings are part of Cassandra's interchangeable collection.
The cactus is a significant emblem of Mexico. However, the challenge of creating a prickle without a spike arose. Shrewdly, Cassandra used the old Victorian technique of setting to add extra sparkle, with deepy engraved sharp lines to achieve this.
Cassandra herself designs all her jewels and works closely with her stone cutters and craftsmen throughout the process from design through to creation including on her bespoke projects.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
