Capim Dourado is a rare and unusual golden grass found uniquely in the Brazilian state of Tocantins. When Cassandra first arrived in Brazil, she found women and men weaving these firm but pliable stems into the most beautiful earrings and pendants. The shapes they could make echoed the natural movement of the grass and so when Cassandra was back in her workshop she created extremely thin ribbons of gold that she could experiment with, turning and shaping them into similar geometric and abstract forms. Her Capim Dourado design with its beautiful cascade of gently moving loops in gold ribbons is the result. From the Journey to Brazil.
Capuri earrings with a clip in 9ct yellow gold set with diamonds 0.2cts. Each earring measures approximately 52mm.
Cassandra herself designs all her jewels and works closely with her stone cutters and craftsmen throughout the process from design through to creation including on her bespoke projects.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
