The Florio family are one of the old Sicilian families, and the Targa Florio car race around Palermo was their invention (that also gave birth to the name of the Porsche Targa car). Cassandra recreated the race when she launched this collection and visitors to the boutique played a Scalextric version upstairs whilst jewels were wrapped downstairs! The pattern is of stylised fig trees drawn from a lunette Cassandra saw as she walked around Palermo. From the journey to Sicily.
Florio 9ct yellow gold earring pendants on 9ct yellow gold Astrea hoops. These earrings are part of Cassandra's interchangeable collection.
Cassandra herself designs all her jewels and works closely with her stone cutters and craftsmen throughout the process from design through to creation including on her bespoke projects.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
