The goddess of love - Astarte, or Venus - is revered at Erice near the western coast of Sicily. It was there that Daedalus was tasked to make a golden honeycomb for the goddess. Honeycomb - and therefore bees - are inextricably linked with Sicily. So, Cassandra named this collection Melissae (meaning bee) Di Erice. From the journey to Sicily.
Melissae di Erice earring pendant reversible fitting pave set with diamonds 0.14cts. in 18ct white gold and 18ct yellow gold and with Tahitian pearls on interchangeable Astrea 18ct white gold diamond hoops. These earrings are part of Cassandra's interchangeable collection.
Cassandra herself designs all her jewels and works closely with her stone cutters and craftsmen throughout the process from design through to creation including on her bespoke projects.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
