Drying sheets billowed out to sea from shuttered windows on the tiny island of Ortigia, and then a cluster of Pigne would catch Cassandra's eye. Pigne, or those colourful, glazed ceramic pinecones that decorate each balcony symbolising the immortality that has carried this city through centuries of conquest, are still made by the Piscitello family as they have done since 1683. For Cassandra's jewel, she took the outline of these pinecones and made it an open golden lattice wherein diamonds could sometimes be set. From the journey to Sicily.

Craftmanship and sourcing

Designed by Cassandra

Cassandra herself designs all her jewels and works closely with her stone cutters and craftsmen throughout the process from design through to creation including on her bespoke projects.

Gemologist

Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.

Crafted to perfection

The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
