Waking up early, Cassandra went to Monreale, the beautiful Norman cathedral built by William II of Sicily on the hill above Palermo. Before the doors were opened, Cassandra liked to walk up and down past the railings outside that were decorated with a series of circles and winged tips where the circles met.
