Pesos necklace in 9 carat yellow gold with one side matt and polished on the reverse. The 'pesos' are woven together with a gold chain. Inspired by the Mexican currency known as pesos. The Spanish had introduced the eight piece and the peso comes from this old coin. From Cassandra's travels in Mexico.
This necklace is also available in 18 carat yellow gold.
The necklace measures approximately 16" with extension to 18".
The original Mexican currency was the peso. For her "Ola Mexicana" collection, Cassandra's fascination with coins - that started with her Croesus collection in 1992 - continues. In the Pesos design 'circles' of gold sheet are cut out individually and literally 'stitched' together with fine chain. The necklace length can easily be adjusted to suit different necklines. Polished on one side, the necklace can be reversed to reveal the matt side.
All Cassandra Goad Jewellery is designed and made in our workshops in London.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
