Pigne

The ceramic pinecones that decorate each balcony on the island of Ortigia, symbolise the immortality that has carried this city through centuries of conquest. For my jewel, I took the outline of these pinecones and made it an open golden lattice, wherein I could occasionally set diamonds. As pendant or earrings, they remind me of balconies throughout the Emerald Isle of Sicily.

Diamond

Diamond- from the Greek 'adamas' means the unconquerable and so it is, being the hardest of all gemstones. From yellowish to green, red, pink and blue, diamonds are found in all colours in South Africa, Australia, as well as Namibia, Russia and China.
