As Cassandra stepped inside the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte she thought about the French fabulist and poet Jean de la Fontaine's work Le Songe De Vaux, commissioned by his friend Fouquet in 1659 to tell a tale about the creation of the Chateaux and the splendour inside. Cassandra found herself pausing to take in boiseries, the wood panelling, the walls, to admire the carvings of undulating leaves and flowers. Above her, every ceiling showcased endless whirlpools of ornately carved fielded motifs. She realised the golden orbs and scrolls would be a striking starting point for a new design, Cassandra's own golden Songe de Vaux.

Craftmanship and sourcing

Designed by Cassandra

Cassandra herself designs all her jewels and works closely with her stone cutters and craftsmen throughout the process from design through to creation including on her bespoke projects.

Gemologist

Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.

Crafted to perfection

The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
