The inspiration for Cassandra's St James Cross comes from the story of the Order of Saint James which began in Castile-León in circa 1170 for the protection of pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia (and was later confirmed in Portugal in 1172). From Cassandra's Classic Collection.
