Melissae di Erice ring in silver with a honeycomb design and 9ct yellow gold bee detailing. Bees and honeycomb are inextricably linked with Sicily. The great Sicilian craftsman, Daedalus, created the first honeycomb and presented it at Erice, Sicily to Aphrodite. From the Journey to Sicily.

Melissae di Erice
The goddess of love, Astarte, is revered at Erice. It was there that Daedalus was tasked to make a golden honeycomb for her. Honeycomb - and therefore, bees - are inextricably linked with Sicily, so I named this collection 'Melissea', meaning 'bee', Di Erice. In the hexagons of the honeycomb on the rings and pendants, a small bee and diamond are hidden.
