Cassandra's inspiration for her Snowflake design comes from an afternoon spent inside the Forbidden City in China ( as well as from her lifelong fascination with snowflakes). Tall latticed red doors of one of the inner temples seemed to her to have a snowflake like pattern. In the workshop she recreated the delicate snowflake design with the expert help of her stone setter, adding extra detail to make the design seem almost ' light and fluffy' like a real snowflake.
