Cassandra's Furu Kongle (meaning 'pine cone' in Norwegian) is one of her most loved designs. The idea for the jewel began from a childhood fascination with all shapes of pinecones that she would collect and keep in baskets at home. She observed how they began tightly closed and then seemed to spin open (releasing their seeds). But the most intriguing part was how these beautiful seed pods were so light in weight. With the idea of creating a pine cone of her own one day always in the back of her mind, it was on a trip to Copenhagen that she happened to chance upon the original design drawings for Poul Henningsen's famous Artichoke lamp. As she walked on around the museum, it came to her that if she created her fircone in a similar way to the lamp, she would be able to keep the lightness she so craved and the beauty of a pinecone's outline. The Furu Kongle design is made in silver and gold and set with diamonds. From the journey to Scandinavia.

Cassandra herself designs all her jewels and works closely with her stone cutters and craftsmen throughout the process from design through to creation including on her bespoke projects.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
