Our Summer Party

It's the evening of the Cassandra Goad Summer Party and the air is charged with a sense of anticipation and excitement, a mood unique to the end of May. No, it's not Tuesday's thunder and lightening wreaking havoc again, it's the feeling we can finally enjoy some summertime socialising!

Out on the streets and the surrounding area, Sloane Square is alive with the annual hubbub of the Chelsea Flower Show and Chelsea In Bloom, people wandering in the early evening warmth and crowds gathering to admire the bountiful floral displays outside the different stores. The jewel in the crown this year is of course the eagerly anticipated Jubilee Celebrations. Here was our opportunity to create a striking window display in honour of Her Majesty The Queen, exemplifying the Chelsea in Bloom theme of 'British Icons'.

Step inside the Cassandra Goad store, however, and you're transported to Morocco's medina streets, each floor of the Cassandra Goad store a treasure trove for the latest Maroc collection.

Interspersed between rustic textures and playful backdrops are Cassandra's latest jewels, glinting and gleaming in perfect harmony. Olive tree branches, raffia baskets, soft linens, dusty orange bricks, pomegranates and dried fennel seed heads, fresh fruits and tagine dishes in warming shades, amidst overlapping Moroccan rugs and the Artist in Residence canvases, all creating a picture of a vibrant Moroccan scene.

Guests enjoy an array of canapés. From Moroccan Spiced Coronation Chicken, Beef Tartare Tartlet and Brown Shrimp on a Fennel Seed Crispbread, to Spiced Hummus in a Crispy Tortilla and Pomegranate & Onion Tart Tatin. The punchy polished pomegranate seeds the perfect compliment to soft sweet onions encased with a melting pastry puff. Alongside, sipping glasses of Champagne and fresh Moroccan mint mocktails.

Jubilant and joyful, the evening was a celebration, not just for the Maroc collection but for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and the summer months ahead.
