The capital of China has been variously named: Nanjing, Peking and Beijing. After Cassandra's stay at the Broughton Castle in Oxfordshire, where hand-painted butterflies, flitted and fluttered across the beautiful 18th century Chinese wallpaper, Cassandra was inspired to sketch the first designs. So, Cassandra named these differently sized pieces after the varying names of the capital: Peking, Nanjing and Beijing. From the journey to China.
Beijing Butterfly in 18ct white gold set with diamonds (1.58cts) and rubies. The pendant measures approximately 47x27mm. This can be worn as a necklace pendant, on a tiara or as a brooch. Chain and brooch back sold separately.
Cassandra herself designs all her jewels and works closely with her stone cutters and craftsmen throughout the process from design through to creation including on her bespoke projects.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
