Cassandra Goad and Anya Hindmarch's talk

An Evening with Anya Hindmarch

Just a short distance from the Cassandra Goad flagship boutique, on prestigious Sloane Street, the Anya Hindmarch store welcomed guests for an intimate conversation between two old friends. Looking back on the decades they have spent building their careers, Cassandra and Anya reflected on the beginnings of their businesses in the 1980s and the experiences that have shaped them since. From the challenges they encountered to the lessons they gathered along the way, their exchange offered moments of both reflection and laughter.

Having founded their businesses just two years apart, Cassandra and Anya had their own aspirations for what they would become. Anya dreamed of expanding, while Cassandra intentionally remained small.  For Cassandra, this has allowed her to be involved at every stage of a jewel’s journey, from its initial conception to the moment it is worn and treasured. With each jewel carefully handcrafted in London, she stays close to her clients, the workshop and the design process, preserving the personal connection that has always been central to her work.

Their friendship has also influenced their creative work. Anya inspired Cassandra’s timeless 'Never Assume' Quote Pendant, while Cassandra provided her signature handwritten calligraphy for Anya in the early days of her business. Their exchange reflects the ways in which their creative worlds have crossed over the years, with both offering inspiration and support to one another.

The conversation offered a glimpse into the experiences and choices that have shaped both women’s careers. Remaining close throughout their journeys, Cassandra and Anya have created respected brands with a strong sense of individuality and character.
