The Stories Behind Cassandra's Quirker Designs

Over the past forty years, Cassandra has become renowned for her quirky sense of style and her jewellery is no exception. She remains endlessly fascinated by creating designs that are both unique and witty. And what better way to explore some of her most imaginative designs than by going back to where it all began…

As a child, Cassandra was captivated by an unusual ring that belonged to her mother - a pineapple that sat proudly on her finger. It was a curious ring, seemingly classical in design yet strikingly unexpected in its subject. So, years later, when Cassandra came across a similar motif in a fresco in San Miguel de Allende, she knew she had to create her own version of the pineapple ring.

Another of Cassandra’s most treasured possessions as a girl was her charm bracelet. Over time, she carefully collected a variety of charms, but it was always the articulated ones that captured her imagination. She adored the way they moved, admired the intricacy of their craftsmanship, and above all, loved the sense of secrecy they held.

Cassandra hols a fish shaped charm which can open to reveal a polished silver surface perfect for engraving.

That early fascination still fuels her passion today, inspiring her signature ‘locket’ jewels - designs that swing open to reveal hidden gemstones or engraved messages. From her Fish pendant, perfect for engraving a secret message, to the Cocoa Pod pendant, which holds precious gemstones like hidden treasures, Cassandra’s locket designs bring a sense of joy and playfulness to jewellery.
