Ever since Cassandra's first trip to Asia where she woke early to go for a swim every morning, finding their petals strewn along the beach as an offering to the Gods, frangipani have been one of her favourite flowers. In Rio do Janeiro they were everywhere. Cassandra picked up one of these waxy white flowers in the Jardim Botanico, and twisted it in her hand observing how the petals curl into the stem. Back in the workshop Cassandra tried cutting translucent gemstones to mimic these petals and found by adding small facets to the petals the earrings came to life, catching the light, as the wearer moves. And the small diamond in the centre adds a twinkle at the centre of the flower. From the journey to Brazil.
Medium Frangipani earrings in 9ct yellow gold with cornflower blue chalcedony petals 13cts. and diamond centre 0.24cts. with post and clip. Each earring measures approximately 18mm.
Cassandra herself designs all her jewels and works closely with her stone cutters and craftsmen throughout the process from design through to creation including on her bespoke projects.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
