The Terracotta Army was built by the subjects of Qin Shi Huang to protect the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty in the afterlife. When Cassandra lines up several pairs of 'Qin Han' earrings she thinks of the rows of warriors, paired up similarly. Cassandra loves the juxtaposition of colours - it is the hue of each earring which is so important: vivid orange fire must go with rich, pink tourmaline, as must bright, golem yellow citrine go with the lively blue of aquamarine. From the journey to China.
Qin & Han earrings in 18ct white gold with rub over set cushion facetted mint green tourmaline and blue topaz. Each earring measures approximately 21mm.
Cassandra herself designs all her jewels and works closely with her stone cutters and craftsmen throughout the process from design through to creation including on her bespoke projects.
Ever in search of the unusual and rare, Cassandra travels the world to source beautiful gemstones, either in the rough or cut form.
The craftsman works as an artist recreating the design in metal. The jewel is then mounted, assayed, polished and set.
