A Festive Series
Anya Hindmarch's Festive Wish List

Anya Hindmarch, founder of her namesake luxury accessories brand, shares her favourite stocking fillers and festive rituals. Known for her witty, imaginative designs, she brings the same playful spirit to Christmas.
The perfect practical gift for a stocking?
Falke sports socks - they always seem to go missing so always a good gift.
What is your favourite Christmas tradition?
Gathering in a tiny but special London pub with any friends still in London on Christmas eve for a pub quiz run by my eldest son. It is a lovely moment of ‘let’s stop work and go all in’.

At home or abroad for the festive season?
Ideally – always at home. Fires, trees, traditions and then abroad, if possible, with all kids for a tiny burst of Vitamin D and exercise post all that eating.
A new year’s resolution?
To not make a new year’s resolution. My son always writes down the entire family’s New Year’s resolutions each year and I know he will use this list of ‘failures’ to humiliate me one day. So, I am not going to play this year!
The Cassandra Goad jewel on your wish list?
I would like Cassandra to make me a simple thin eternity ring made from sapphires. I feel like I deserve it. Sometimes (as my husband often says)... it feels like an eternity!

What is your role on Christmas day?
I feel it is my day OFF. And my family all know my skills are planning not cooking. But I intend to be playing with my first granddaughter who will be 6 months.
The perfect edible addition to any stocking?
We always have a weird thing for spices and hot sauces. So any chilli peanut sauce is always a winner with my kids. But for me it would always and forever be Maynards winegums.
A nostalgic or frivolous addition for your stocking?
A second packet of winegums? Is that allowed? I might hide them in an ‘important things’ or ‘girlie stuff’ travel pouch from my Labelled shop.
A little luxury?
Chocolate Solitaire from my Christmas Grotto. A little solo moment which can be delicious too. Or always a book. Hours of pleasure. I am buying my kids ‘How will you measure your life’ this year by Clayton M Christensen. To make them stop and think!
What is your Quality Street chocolate pick?
Toffee penny. It lasts the longest. But can lead to expensive dentist bills.
Best part of a Christmas feast?
The brandy butter with Christmas pudding (as opposed to Christmas pudding with brandy butter).
Your go to gift
A mudlarkers license...
How do you battle the post-Christmas-feast slump?
On boxing day we do a London treasure hunt with lots of families. It is competitive and involves a lot of walking (unless you cheat).
Your favourite way to give back during the festive season?
The Ever After Garden which benefits the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is my pet project. It is a field of 30,000 illuminated roses in Duke of York Square where you can dedicate one to someone you have lost. It is open from Nov 13th to Dec 16th 3pm to 9pm daily. It is magical and moving and a lovely way to donate to such an brilliant charity.
